Mae’s Melt the Middle

WABW bloggers Yvonne Shinhoster Lamb and Mae Israel are back with a few of their friends to try again to trim their waistlines in our Melt the Middle Health Challenge. As before, they’ll change their eating habits, exercise regularly and measure their middles over the next six to eight months.
Mae and two former co-workers, Nzinga and Patrice, are teaming up for the challenge. They already get together every month or so to exercise and enjoy each other’s company over a light lunch – a reflection of their journey toward a healthier lifestyle after moving from the Washington, D.C., area.
They plan to get rid of some of their belly fat – a plump middle can lead to numerous health problems – by Mother’s Day 2011. Their goal is to celebrate motherhood with slimmer waists and, of course, plenty of compliments from their children. It will be a special Mother’s Day gift to themselves.
