WABW travel blogger Jennifer Beaumont took a journey via Amtrak from Philadelphia to Birmingham with her friend Valarie. Along the way, they made stops to reacquaint themselves with - and be introduced to - places where African Americans left their mark.
They visited the south side of Chicago and the DuSable Museum. They took pictures inside the Lorraine Hotel room in Memphis where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered. They jaunted to a sleepy town in the Mississippi Delta. They had seafood instead of ribs on the Fourth of July in Nawlins.
Read about their trip and exploits in Jennifer's blog Come Explore With Me.

What an empowering Tech Camp!
I learned today, a participant said at this year's Tech Camp, that I was teachable. That pronouncement summed up an energizing, powerful and extraordinary day at our second camp.
The women created their own blogs and Facebook accounts, and learned how to shoot photos and video and upload them to the web.
