Yvonne’s Melt The Middle

WABW bloggers Yvonne Shinhoster Lamb and Mae Israel are back with a few of their friends to try again to trim their waistlines in our Melt the Middle Health Challenge. As before, they’ll change their eating habits, exercise regularly and measure their middles over the next six to eight months.
Yvonne teamed up with two high school friends. Their goal was flatter tummies by their 40th reunion, which they will be celebrating next summer. That didn’t work out. Yvonne began on Feb. 23 teaming up with hubby Greg. He thrives on competition. (And his gut is 10 inches too big.)

Yvonne, I was reading that The Middle is a part of Mid Life, as in menopause, which slows down the metabolism. What to do now, if diet and exercise…aren’t enough?
Have to keep on doing those things, otherwise it is giving in to the fat. I think it is the consistency. I get going until something happens to distract, to change my diet or alter my exercise routine. For the last month, Greg has had gout. Before that it was colds and allergies. I’m walking still and trying to not overdo it with waist-expanding foods, like fries and sweets.
